Early Stock Label, Vintage Lemon Crate Label

This an unused stock citrus label, there is no shipper, grower or brand name.  To have a custom label printed you would contact the lithograph company, come up with a design and usually have a large number of labels printed.  This could be expensive, especially if you only need a few labels.  If you were a small grower, or just had a small amount of certain type of fruit, lithograph companies had a variety stock labels on hand and could make a quick printing run with black ink putting on the brand, etc.  Nice cluster of lemons, an early one.

• Printed in the 1910s.
• Condition: Quite a bit of border wear, bends and staining on bottom left corner tip.
