Appleton Brand Vintage Watsonville Apple Crate Label, op, 3 1/2 tier on lower left
This fruit crate label was used by Borgovich & Dragovich out of Watsonville, California. A very nice early lithograph showing women smelling roses, large apples an inset of farmland. One of the nicer early apple labels you will find, this variation has an overprint on one of the apples, they must have been using a non standard size crate. Eventually crate sizes became standard making it easier to fill railroad cars, also avoided wasted space in the railroad cars
- 9.50 x 10.25 inches in size.
- Printed in the 1910s.
- Mint condition.
An old crate label, not a copy, not a computer printed art print. A vintage label intended to be pasted on a crate, but never used. Old stock from a warehouse find.
