Stafford's Blacks Brand Vintage Grape Crate Label, tall

$4.99

This fruit crate label was used by E. P. Stafford, Tulare, California.  Image of boy with colander on head.  I have no clue on how they came up with the theme, though on wine grapes the darker the higher the quality.  This label would have gone on a crate of juice grapes(wine varietals), that would be shipped back east and sold to home wine makers.  They generally shipped in 36 pound crates and people would buy a few crates for wine making.

  • 5.00 x 13.00 inches in size.
  • Printed in the 1940s.
  • Condition: a couple handling marks.
An original fruitcrate label, not a copy, not a computer-printed art print.  A vintage label intended to be pasted on a crate, but never used.  Old stock from a warehouse find.
